A true icon of Australian craft spirits, St Agnes Distillery is preparing to celebrate a major milestone in 2025. The family-run distillery will mark its 100th distilling season, making it not only Australia’s oldest family-owned distillery, but also one of the most respected names in premium brandy.
To honour the occasion, St Agnes will host a series of special events across Adelaide and Renmark, including tastings and dining experiences during Tasting Australia, presented by Journey Beyond in early May. It’s a chance for brandy lovers to explore the heritage, passion and craftsmanship that go into every bottle.
“Reaching 100 distilling seasons is an incredible achievement,” says Richard Angove, Co-Managing Director. “It reflects the dedication, skill and passion of generations of distillers who have worked tirelessly to craft exceptional brandy right here in the Riverland.”
Founded in 1925 by Carl Angove, the distillery has grown from humble beginnings into a world-renowned producer. Now led by the fifth generation of the Angove family, St Agnes continues to balance tradition with innovation. Its commitment to quality has earned widespread recognition, including being named Champion Australian Distiller in 2024 at the Melbourne Royal Australian Distilled Spirits Awards.
That same year, St Agnes took out Best Distilled Spirit honours at the Royal Sydney, Royal Adelaide and Royal Australian Spirit Awards, as well as Best Brandy at every major capital city competition. The international stage also took notice, with gold medals awarded at the Hong Kong International Wine & Spirit Competition.
Beyond brandy, the distillery has expanded its portfolio with products like the Blind Tiger Organic Gin and Camborne Whisky, both of which have attracted a loyal following.
“This 100th season is not just about celebrating our past,” says Angove. “It’s about looking ahead and continuing to lead the way in Australian distilling with the same spirit that’s guided us for a century.”
