Akashi 5 Year Old Red Wine Cask Japanese Single Malt Whisky 500ml

For this limited release, White Oak has introduced the Akashi 5 Year Old Single Malt, meticulously aged in Cognac barrels for four and a half years, followed by a finishing period in red wine casks. This Japanese Single Malt is presented without cold filtration or the addition of coloring, resulting in a whisky of exceptional richness and refinement, characterized by its fruity, tannic, and woody notes.

Situated in the city of Akashi within the Hyogo Prefecture, adjacent to the Seto Inland Sea, the White Oak Distillery boasts a storied history. Established in 1888 by Eigashima Shuzo, the distillery originally focused on the production of Sake and Shochu. In 1919, Eigashima Shuzo secured a license to manufacture whisky, leading to the establishment of White Oak Distillery at its current site in 1984.
