Calle 23 Añejo is a 100% blue agave tequila crafted by French biochemist and master distiller Sophie Decobecq in the highlands of Jalisco, Mexico. The agave is slow-cooked in stainless steel autoclaves and distilled in pot stills, then aged for sixteen months in ex-bourbon barrels from Jack Daniel's and Heaven Hill.
The nose offers notes of vanilla, spiced nuts and green olive, while the palate delivers baked capsicum, mild chile, caramel and bruleed banana with a silky texture. The finish carries milk chocolate, minerals and warm fruit. At 40% ABV, this Gold Medal winner (International Review of Spirits, 92 points) is a refined sipping tequila with real depth.
