2021 was quite a ride, my fellow wine enthusiasts! It's safe to say this vintage had us all scratching our heads, even those who might have doubted climate change. I mean, we had frost, hail, and strong winds in the spring, which led to a 20% reduction in crops. And that was just the beginning, my friends! As they say in the classics, 'then came the rain' - we're talking about 80-100mm of it in the first week of February. Not exactly the ideal start to a vintage, huh?

But fear not! Vineyards with excellent canopy management and good drainage were able to dodge most of the damage. And here's where the plot twist comes in: warm weather in March saved the day! This allowed early ripening varieties like Sauvignon Blanc and Chardonnay to be harvested with fantastic flavors and refreshing acidity. Picture this: citrus oil, floral notes, dried pear, and grapefruit aromas dancing together, perfectly complemented by subtle French oak. On the palate, you'll experience a lovely texture with a delicate finish that's dry and savory. And guess what? It's all thanks to those wild ferments with turbid juices.
