A few years back when Glenfiddich released their experimental Vintage Peated many were taken aback, but most were pleasantly surprised at the peat smoke's experiment results. Now they have taken that same magical brew and combined it with the rum cask polishing process they employ for their 21-Year-Old Single Malt offering. The result is a bold departure from the mellow tones the company is generally recognized for. Glenfiddich Fire & Cane is a bold scotch with a peppery bite and heavy toffee sweetness. It tends to lay heavy on the tongue with the smoke coming through almost as an afterthought.
