Lagrimas De Dolores Castilla Mezcal 700ml

Lagrimas de Dolores Castilla is a cultivated version of Agave angustifolia. It is a large species, sometimes growing as tall as 2.5 meters. This maguey has been cultivated in the Southern parts of Mezquital Municipality, mainly from the Autonomous Indigenous Community. Our Agave in particular comes from Huazamota. It takes around 6 years to reach maturity and can be found in low areas in Durango. Although it comes from the same family as Oaxaca’s “Espadín” this agave differs greatly in appearance and taste. Durango has a large diversity of agave varietals. Lágrimas de Dolores is making it its mission to provide assistance and supplies to mezcal producers who are growing agave in the more remote and inaccessible parts of Durango.
