Classic Laphroaig on the nose. People can smell it from a mile away. Lot of peat, salty air and slight underlying sweetness. Smoky and sweet on the palate, but 'concoction' would be the word to describe it rather than 'complexity'. The peat will linger during and after the finish. Wouldn't call this a failure, but getting a Laphroaig 10 for the few extra quid will improve the experience significantly.
