Pilsner Urquell Czech Pilsner 4.4% 24 Pack Cans 500ml

Pilsner Urquell is where the golden lager began. In 1842, in the Czech city of Plzeň, brewmaster Josef Groll created the world's first golden pilsner, and the recipe has remained essentially unchanged for more than 180 years.

It is brewed with entirely Czech ingredients: soft Plzeň water, sweet Moravian barley and Saaz hops from the nearby Žatec region. A traditional triple decoction mash, in which part of the mash is heated three times, builds its depth of flavour and rich golden colour.

The result is a beautifully balanced lager, with malt sweetness and subtle caramel tones set against the fine bitterness of Saaz hops. Natural carbonation keeps it crisp, and it finishes clean with a pleasing hoppy bite. In the Czech tradition, serve it with a thick head of dense, creamy foam to keep it fresh in the glass.
