In 2014, winemaker Sacha La Forgia established 78 Degrees Distillery after working at wineries in renowned wine-making regions around the world. Sacha's inspiration for launching 78 Degrees came after spending time at a grappa distillery in Frulia, Italy, and 78°C is the magic number where alcohol boils ready for distilling. Adelaide Hills Distillery 78 Degrees Australian Whiskey is a 44% ABV whiskey that's produced using single paddock grain from the local region and hand-picked casks, with subtle notes of vanilla, caramel, apricots, figs and a little bready spice. The taste is like freshly baked cinnamon biscuits with banana, dried apricots and chocolate, combined with a warm lingering finish.
