Despite its single digit age statement, Wee Beastie 5 Year Old is a true Ardbeg with all of the peaty punch that characterizes the distillery's older offerings. To the nose, it is intensely aromatic with heavy notes of black pepper and a pine tar tang that is very sharp. On the palate, it is best described as tongue tingling with explosions of dark chocolate, creosote and spicy sausages. The finish fades slowly with a salty edge that is quite dry.
