Bodriggy Brewing Co works out of a converted Art Deco garage in Abbotsford, Melbourne, and Ripple Effect is one of the collaborative brews the team looks forward to most. It is a red IPA built around the annual Pink Boots Society hop blend, released in support of the women and non-binary people working across the brewing and fermented drinks industry.
The hop blend brings Ekuanot, Centennial, HBC 638 and Mosaic together, giving the beer a bright mix of tropical fruit, stone fruit and citrus over a resinous pine backbone. A careful selection of specialty malts delivers the deep ruby colour and a gentle caramel sweetness without adding roast bitterness or astringency.
The result is a red IPA that leans into fruit driven hop character rather than heavy malt weight, finishing clean and moderately bitter. Serve it well chilled in a decent sized glass so the aromatics have room to open up.
