Captain Morgan Rum Company launched in Canada in 1944 when Seagram's CEO Samuel Bronfman fell in love with the rum created by the Levy Brothers, made with spices, medicinal herbs and Long Pond Distillery raw rum product. Bronfman immediately bought Long Pond Distillery from the Jamaican government. Captain Morgan Black Label Jamaican Rum is 40% ABV and is the complex blend of 5 different rums from 3 Caribbean countries that are distilled then matured in charred oak barrels for 2 years. Black Label is a rich, dark Jamaican rum that's bursting with aromas of vanilla and caramel, toffee and a beautifully balanced smokiness to finish.
