Founded in 1886 in the Bavarian town of Erding, Erdinger Weissbräu is Germany's largest family-owned wheat beer brewery, and its Weissbier is still brewed to the original recipe. It is made from malted wheat and barley, select hop varieties and water drawn from the brewery's own deep wells, fermented with a top-fermenting yeast cultivated in-house.

What sets it apart is Erdinger's traditional Bavarian method of maturation. After the main fermentation the beer undergoes a second fermentation in the bottle for up to three weeks, building its fine, natural carbonation and rounded character.

It pours a fresh, radiant yellow with fine yeast cloudiness and a compact head. Malt and yeast lead the aroma, lifted by delicate floral notes, while the palate shows gently spicy malt, fruity notes and a subtle sweetness, finishing mild and elegant with a light hoppy touch and a lively tingle. Serve at 7 to 9°C in a wheat beer glass to concentrate the aromas.
