Live Fierce! Rigorous attention and daily vineyard assessments were imperative to ensure optimal picking decisions were not overlooked. In 2020, a mere two-day difference significantly impacted fruit quality and ripeness. Given the low yields, the fruit ripened swiftly, prompting an early harvest on February 28th, approximately 2-3 weeks ahead of the usual schedule. Fermentation of the fruit took place in stainless steel over a nine-day period, with twice-daily pump-overs. Meticulous focus was applied to managing extraction and tannin profile during fermentation. The wine matured in American oak for 26 months, utilizing 40% new oak and the remainder in seasoned oak.
