Glenglassaugh Sandend Nas 700ml
Glenglassaugh Sandend Nas 700ml
The Glenglassaugh Distillery is located at the east end of Sandend bay, approximately two miles west of Portsoy. It was established in 1875 by local entrepreneur and businessman James Moir in an area historically favored by illicit distillers. In 2007, a group of whisky enthusiasts and investors sought a distillery with heritage and a reputation for producing high-quality single malt scotch whisky. Their search led them to Glenglassaugh, and they successfully acquired the distillery on February 29, 2008, forming the "Glenglassaugh Distillery Company Limited." Under the ownership of the BenRiach Distillery Company in 2013, the goal was to revive Glenglassaugh by providing the necessary investment, commitment, and care. Within three years, their efforts attracted the attention of Brown Forman, one of the world's largest spirit producers, who acquired the distillery in 2016.
The Glenglassaugh Distillery has been rediscovered and has undergone a revitalization of its core range, resulting in a refreshed appearance and taste. Master Blender Rachel Barrie has crafted an unpeated single malt that has been matured in a combination of Bourbon, Sherry, and Manzanilla casks.
On the nose, this whisky offers a delightful experience with notes of creamy buttery vanilla fudge, accompanied by vibrant tropical fruits such as mango, paw paw, pineapple, and hints of butterscotch.
The palate reveals flavors of palm sugar, candied mango, salted paw paw, pineapple lollies, creamy malted barley, and a subtle hint of citrus.
The finish, lasting from medium to long, delights with a combination of grapefruit citrus, summer berries, vanilla, butterscotch, tropical fruits, and a touch of sea salt.
