The first of Glenmo's entries into the prestige market, Glenmorangie 18-Years-Old is exactly what you would expect from this distillery nestled in the highlands of Tain, Ross-shire. Clean and crisp with a distinct honeyed citrus flavour married to a rich bouquet of floral overtones. Created by initially aging the whisky for 15 years in American white oak casks then emboldened by transferring 30% to Spanish Oloroso casks for its final 3 years of polish gives the finale blend a remarkable balance between the raisiny tones of the sherry and nuttiness from the white oak.
