Goslings Spirited Seas Ocean Aged Bermuda Rum 88 Proof 750ml
Spirited Seas is Goslings' ocean-aged Bermuda rum, and it takes its name literally. After conventional barrel maturation, the rum is loaded aboard a vessel and spends months at sea, where constant motion, salt air and shifting temperatures push the spirit in and out of the oak far more actively than it ever would in a still warehouse.
The result is a mahogany-auburn rum with a lively, oaky nose lifted by salted caramel and sweet spice. The palate is plush and generous, showing stone fruit, caramel apple, milk chocolate and hazelnut, with salted dark chocolate and a flicker of cinnamon heat towards the close.
Subtle oak and allspice carry a clean, lingering finish. It holds up well neat, and has more than enough presence to anchor a Dark 'n Stormy or an old fashioned.
