Orkney is a remote island in the north of Scotland that was once a part of the Viking kingdom. In 1798, Viking descendant Magnus Eunson was caught bootlegging whisky and almost 30 years later the former church officer and butcher founded Highland Park distillery legally on the very same site in the Scottish Highlands. Highland Park 40 Year Old 2019 Release is a 43.2% ABV Single Malt Scotch Whisky that has undergone aging in 5 single refill casks and then matured a further 10 years in ex-sherry American oak barrels, which drives bold characters of raisins and nuts for a rich, warm finish.
