Indri Trini The Three Wood is an Indian single malt from Piccadily Distilleries, crafted at Indri in the northern state of Haryana. Made from indigenous six-row barley, it takes its name from the trio of casks that shape its flavour, and has quickly earned a reputation as one of India's most celebrated single malts.
The Three Wood character comes from maturation across first-fill ex-bourbon barrels, ex-French red wine casks and Pedro Ximenez sherry casks. Matured separately before being married together, these woods build a whisky that is both richly layered and remarkably approachable, helped along by India's warm climate and accelerated maturation.
It is tropical and fruit-forward, leading with peach, mango and caramelised pineapple, supported by black tea, vanilla, honey, raisin and sweet cherry. The palate adds oak, orange zest, hazelnut and caramel, before a medium to long, gently spiced finish. Presented in a gift box, it makes an ideal introduction to Indian single malt.
