Jameson Triple Triple Marsala Cask Edition is a special expression from the famed Irish distiller, built around the house signature of triple distillation for exceptional smoothness. Where the name really comes to life is in the maturation, which brings together three distinct cask types to layer flavour and depth.
The whiskey is aged in a combination of ex-bourbon barrels, sherry casks and hand-selected Marsala casks. Those Marsala casks, crafted from American white oak and sourced from the historic Florio winery in Sicily, are seasoned with fortified Marsala wine for several years, drawing out rich notes of apricot, toffee apple, walnut and woodland spice.
The result is rich and rounded, with toffee apple sweetness, vanilla and chocolate-dipped walnut carried along by exotic fruit and a subtle hint of ginger spice. Smooth enough to enjoy neat or over ice, it is a distinctive release created for the travel retail market.
