Kumquat Corfu Liqueur is a bright citrus specialty from the Greek island of Corfu, where the small, oval kumquat fruit has been cultivated since it was introduced by an English agronomist in the 1860s. The fruit flourished in the island's mild climate and has since become one of Corfu's signature agricultural products, closely tied to its local identity.
The liqueur is made by steeping whole kumquats in alcohol, allowing the spirit to draw out the fruit's colour, aroma and character before it is filtered and bottled. The result is a vivid orange drink with a sweet yet tangy citrus flavour, balancing honeyed richness against the kumquat's natural zesty edge.
A much-loved taste of the island, it is traditionally enjoyed as a digestif after a meal, served well chilled or over crushed ice. It also lends a distinctive Mediterranean twist to cocktails and works beautifully drizzled over fruit and desserts.
