Our two sustainably farmed vineyards on the outskirts of the village of Auburn, one to the west and the other to the south east surrounding the Koonowla homestead, provide a unique and varied resource for this finest of red wines.Dark, brooding fruit and distinctive blackcurrant aromas are immediately attractive, while more complex characters fill in the background – a classically defined cabernet up there with the finest in the region.Traditional, non-intrusive winemaking techniques are the key to such a powerful, yet elegant red wine style. We use only French oak barrels to enhance pure flavours and classic structures, while patient maturation delivers a keenly balanced, delicious expression of this epic Clare Valley red.
