Brouwerij Lindemans is a family brewery in Belgium, and in 1979 it created its Kriek, a pioneering fruit lambic that has become the brewery's best-selling lambic around the world. It is made by blending traditional lambic with pure sour cherries.
In the glass it is a sparkling, brilliant red topped with delicate pink foam. The aroma is all orchard-fresh cherry with delicate hints of almond, and the palate bursts with freshly picked sour cherries before opening into a smooth, full-bodied character balanced between sweet and tart.
Serve very cold, at around 2 to 4°C. Lindemans Kriek is wonderfully versatile at the table, pairing with goat's cheese, beef carbonnade, Belgian meatballs and lamb with cherry sauce, as well as desserts such as vanilla ice cream, cherry cheesecake and chocolate.
