Marrone Grappa di Barolo is an Italian grappa distilled from the pomace of Nebbiolo grapes, the noble variety behind Barolo, one of Piedmont's most celebrated red wines. Producing a grappa from Barolo pomace is considered a mark of quality, capturing the pedigree of the wine in spirit form.
After the grapes are pressed for winemaking, the remaining skins are carefully distilled to draw out their aromatic character. The result is a refined, warming spirit with the elegant structure and perfumed complexity that Nebbiolo is prized for, showing floral and gently spiced notes alongside a smooth, lingering warmth.
Grappa di Barolo is traditionally savoured as a digestif at the close of a meal, served in a small glass at cool room temperature. It also makes a characterful accompaniment to coffee in the classic Italian style.
