Plantation Original Dark Rum 700ml

Plantation Original Dark Rum was just another plantation style rum without much distinction. That was before being reformulated in 2014. Now this award winner is considered one of the best in its class. From Trinidad but more in the intense style typical of Jamaica or even Barbados, Plantation Original Dark Rum shows its double ageing with heavy notes of ripe plums, bananas, pineapple and earthy toasted vanilla. Cooking spices and some smokiness do appear towards the end but are far from being jarring as in many lesser rums. All in all, one of the best rums to be found in this price range.
