The Dalmore The Quartet is a Highland single malt that showcases the distillery's signature art of cask craft. As the name suggests, it draws its character from four distinct types of oak, layering richness and complexity into the smooth, fruit-forward house style for which The Dalmore is renowned.
After initial maturation in American white oak ex-bourbon barrels, the spirit is married across first-fill bourbon casks, Apostoles and aged Matusalem sherry casks, and Cabernet Sauvignon wine barriques. Each wood contributes its own voice, from vanilla and toasted oak to dried fruit, spice and elegant red-wine nuances.
On the nose it is opulent and inviting, with candied orange, raisins, creamy caramel, vanilla and roasted nuts. The palate is full-bodied and velvety, offering ripe cherries, dark chocolate, espresso and dates, all framed by fine spice and gently tannic oak. The finish is long and beautifully balanced, closing with sweet fruit and dark cocoa.
