Originally launched in 2011 by Darren Rook and angel investor Nick Taylor as the first London whisky distillery in more than 100 years, The London Distillery forged a path as a global award-winning gin distiller, as well as a rye and rum producer. Old Tom Gin gained notoriety in the 1700s with the doors of illegal distilleries marked by images of tomcats. The style has become increasingly popular in recent years with the craft spirits revolution and as a subtly sweeter alternative to London Dry Gin. The London Distillery Co. Old Tom Gin is 46% ABV and produced with truckloads of liquorice to deliver a smooth, mellow sweetness.
