Merus is the everyday Pinot Grigio from Tiefenbrunner, one of the most respected family estates in Italy's Alto Adige. Grown in the cool, high-altitude vineyards of this alpine corner of the country, it captures the crisp, mountain-fresh character that has made the region a benchmark for white wine.
The wine pours a bright, sunny straw yellow and opens with an inviting bouquet of green herbs, ripe pear and melon, lifted by a hint of candied fruit. The palate is dry and gently full-bodied, with flavours of lemon and orchard fruit framed by a fine, chalky minerality.
Fermented in stainless steel and matured for several months on its fine lees, Merus is fresh, harmonious and beautifully poised. Serve well chilled as an aperitif, or alongside seafood, salads and lighter pasta dishes.
