Created in 1996, Tripel Karmeliet is a refined, complex beer with a golden-to-bronze hue and a creamy head. It's based on a recipe that dates back to 1679, which uses wheat, oat and barley. Hops from Styria give complexity to the flavor, while the house yeast adds hints of banana and vanilla to the aroma. As you sip, you'll notice the lightness of wheat and the creaminess of oats, as well as a spicy lemony note that's almost quinine-like.
