Indri Agneya is the first peated single malt from Piccadily Distilleries, made at Indri in the northern Indian state of Haryana. Its name means belonging to fire, a nod to the gentle smoke that runs through this expression and sets it apart from the distillery's classic releases.
The barley is peated using Scottish peat before being distilled and matured in a combination of ex-bourbon and Pedro Ximenez sherry casks. India's warm climate drives a rich, rounded maturation, while the smoke stays beautifully integrated rather than dominant, giving a layered yet controlled profile.
On the nose it reveals chocolate, soft vanilla, dried apricot and fruit jam over earthy peat dust. The palate brings mango, ripe banana, rich toffee and light spice, followed by a warm embrace of dried peat smoke and a refreshing hint of melon. Presented in a gift box, it is an elegant and characterful expression of modern Indian whisky.
