Kinobi Kyoto Plum and Berry Liqueur 700ml
Kinobi Kyoto Plum and Berry Liqueur 700ml
Perfectly ripe Kyoto-grown plums, harvested from Akio Tanaka’s farm south of Uji at the height of the season, undergo maceration for several months in a specially refined version of the award-winning gin. Once optimal extraction is achieved, the ume plums are removed, and haskap berries from Hokkaido are introduced for a brief period before being discarded. Subsequently, the liqueur is sweetened with sugar sourced from Japan’s northernmost island.
The term "haskap" derives from the Ainu language, meaning "the little present at the end of the branch." These berries belong to the honeysuckle family and are also referred to as honeyberries.
"BAI" is an alternative name for ume plums, and this liqueur epitomizes the philosophy of East meets West.
The label design features an original woodblock print by KIRA KARACHO, the successor of a karakami atelier established in Kyoto in 1624.
