Each vintage release of the cool-climate Bin 128 Coonawarra Shiraz offers a compelling contrast to the more opulent and richly concentrated warm-climate Bin 28 Shiraz. Bin 128 is crafted from fruit sourced from the distinctive terra rossa red clay over limestone soils of Coonawarra, a region renowned for its aromatic, transparent, and alluring cool-climate red table wines. Coonawarra has been the exclusive source of Shiraz fruit for Bin 128 since the debut of the 1962 vintage. To accentuate the regional characteristics of Bin 128, the wine undergoes maturation in a combination of new and seasoned French oak hogsheads, a method refined during the 1980s following a transition from American to French oak.
