Nàdurra means natural in Gaelic, and the name is the point: The Glenlivet bottles this range straight from cask, undiluted and without chill filtration. The First Fill Selection draws on first fill American white oak, the most generous wood the distillery works with, which pushes the Speyside house style towards vanilla and tropical fruit.
The colour is pale straw. The nose is soft vanilla fudge and ripe pear over malt and fresh oak, with baked apple and a crème brûlée note developing in the glass. The palate arrives in a wave of juicy pineapple and ripe banana, cut with creamy vanilla, toffee, toasted coconut and a zesty citrus lift.
Full strength gives it a texture the standard bottlings cannot match, and it takes water well if you want to open it up. The finish is long, sweet and oak driven, drying slowly.
