Talisker's Wilder Seas displays a distinct personality, showcasing its unique characteristics. The nose is pleasant, with noticeable malty notes, hints of pepper, raisins, plums, and a background of toffee. There is also a slight earthy scent of rock pools and wet gravel, accompanied by gentle ashes. The influence of brandy is evident, but not overpowering. On the taste, the classic black pepper takes the forefront, followed by sultanas, stewed red apples, and brackish notes. Warm smoky flavors and olive oil accompany a subtle plaster-like taste. The mid-palate becomes slightly thinner and more focused on lemons, chili heat, and a boozy undertone. The finish is medium in length, with notes of pepper, light smoke, aniseed sharpness, and brine.
