In collaboration with Beenleigh, the oldest operating distillery in Australia still employing a vat still for crafting smaller batches of rum—the only one of its kind in the country—this rum is meticulously fermented from molasses and aged for two years in historic wooden maturation vats that once housed Australian Brandy. Subsequently, it is transferred to ex-bourbon barrels for transport to Cognac. The Australia 2015 expression is characterized by a full-bodied profile with ripe notes of melon, pineapple, and raisins, evolving into a long, dry, and spicy nutty finish. This exemplar showcases the exceptional quality of Australian rums.

The Transcontinental Rum Line range draws inspiration from the historic voyages of rum casks between the New World and Europe. This endeavor is a collaborative effort between the esteemed French independent bottler La Maison du Whisky and Velier, an Italian rum innovator renowned for its own Caribbean Rum line established in the 1980s. Each rum is selected from fewer than 10 cases, with production never exceeding 2000 bottles per style. The rums primarily undergo aging in their country of origin before being transported to LMDW’s facility in Cognac for final maturation—in this instance, 2 years in Australia followed by 2 years in Cognac.
